Swedish massage in Two Harbors, Minnesota

A quiet hour, with the lake just outside

Three therapists, long slow strokes and a sheet over you the whole time. You choose the pressure, and you can stop whenever you like. We are taking new clients.

  • Covered by a sheet the whole time
  • You set the pressure
  • Stop whenever you like

Your first session in four steps

Nothing is asked of you except to arrive. This is how it goes, from booking to the chair by the window.

  • Book your visit

Choose a length and a therapist. A short intake comes with your confirmation, and it is the only place we ask about your health.

  • When you arrive

Come ten minutes early. Boots go by the door. We show you the room, then step out while you undress to your comfort and get under the sheet.

  • What to expect

Your therapist asks about pressure and any area to leave alone. You stay covered, one area uncovered at a time, and you can ask for lighter, firmer or a stop.

  • Afterward

A minute to lie still, then water and a chair by the window, with tea if you like. Book your next session at the desk or online.

Every session

Three things that never change

  • Covered the whole time

A sheet covers you throughout. Only the part being worked on is uncovered, and it is covered again when we move on.

  • Pressure is yours

We ask before we start and check again partway through. Lighter or firmer, whenever you say.

  • Stop whenever you like

Pause, change position or end the session at any time, for any reason. We stop right away.

The team

Three therapists, and how each of us trained

Minnesota doesn't license massage therapists statewide, so we tell you how each of us trained and when each of us works. Pick one, or book whoever has the time you want.

  • Leanne Johansson, with short gray hair and glasses, in a white top and navy trousers, leaning on a wall in the studio hallway

    Leanne Johansson

    Owner and massage therapist

Leanne opened Stillwater to make the room she wanted to lie down in: warm, quiet and unhurried. She trained in Swedish massage and in aromatherapy, and she has practiced for most of her working life. She works Tuesday to Saturday.

  • Soojin Rhee, with a dark bob, seated on a stool in a gray polo shirt beside a treatment table

    Soojin Rhee

    Massage therapist

Soojin trained in Swedish massage and in foot reflexology, which works on the feet and hands. She keeps the room quiet and the pace slow, and she is the one to ask for a slow session. She works Wednesday to Sunday.

  • Matthias Sanders, a bearded man in a gray T-shirt, looking at the camera

    Matthias Sanders

    Massage therapist

Matthias came to massage after a career in carpentry and knows what a long day on your feet asks of a body. He trained in Swedish and sports massage, and he works with whatever pressure you ask for, from light to firm. He works Friday to Sunday.
